UM Motorcycles which kick started its Indian operations at the Auto Expo is accepting bookings online or through its 30 odd dealerships. The company has shared its dealer network map though its Facebook page.
There are quite a few mismatches between the actual geographical locations of the cities and the ones marked in the map, but the map helps prospective UM customers in checking if their city has a dealership or not. As you can see, the young American two wheeler maker is expanding its presence in a phased manner and has less or no presence in the central part and eastern part of the country. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal etc., don’t have even a single UM outlet as of now. On the other hand, Maharashtra has the highest number of outlets at 6.
The company which is partnering with India’s Lohia Auto to manufacture its products locally is currently selling a crop of three cruisers – Renegade Sport S (INR 1.49 lakhs), Renegade Commando (INR 1.59 lakhs) and Renegade Classic (INR 1.69 lakhs). All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi.
In addition to attempting to establish itself in the compact sportsbike segment in India, UM Motorcycles is also planning to use India as its export operations starting from May 2017.
