UM Motorcycles, the Indian arm of American bike maker UM International LLC, in a 50:50 joint venture with Lohia Auto and headquartered out of New Delhi is set to introduce Renegade range of cruiser motorcycles in India.
The Renegade range will include Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and Renegade Classic. Each of these three cruiser bikes will share a 279cc, single cylinder, water cooled engine offering 25 bhp power at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm mated to a six speed transmission.
To the showcased at 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida in February, the three Renegade models will be seen with wide handlebars and hydraulic telescopic front suspension along with spring rear suspensions. While the UM Renegade Commando along with UM Renegade Sport S receives electric start function, the Renegade Classic will not receive this electric start. All three models will receive a fuel tank of 18 liter capacity along with kerb weight of 172 kg.
Bringing the Renegade range of cruisers to India, the company promises state of the art features and high quality aboard each of these bikes which are built to tackle the rough Indian terrain. Pricing is also slated to start in the range of INR 1.8 lakh.

Having participated in the 2014 Auto Expo as well, UM Motorcycles India entry has been delayed due to unavoidable circumstances. But the company is now all-set for launch. Set to increase their reach across the country, UM Motorcycles have commenced appointment of new dealerships in leading tier cities while future plans include expansion of dealership networks in tire II and tire III cities as well. The company has confirmed that bookings of the entire range will commence at the 2016 Auto Expo.
