Speaking about production, Mr. Villegas revealed that the existing facility is estimated to accommodate the first three phases of the operations before requiring a capacity extension. Introduction of sports bikes is a part of the brand’s second phase.
The global director also revealed that the Indian facility would act as an export hub for markets like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh initially and will subsequently cater to other markets in Asia and Latin America. Export volume is estimated to be around 10-15% of the production in India.
