American cruiser brand UM Motorcycles which manufactures its products at LML’s facility in India has widened its local portfolio with the launch of UM Renegade Duty S and Duty Ace models at the 2018 Auto Expo. The duo which is designed to perform both on and off-road duties have a starting price of INR 1.1 lakhs (ex-showroom). The company also the new Vegas cruiser on display at the expo.
Visually, the Renegade Duty S features single color paint job, traditional circular headlamp, and two-piece seat while the Duty S Ace has a sportier appeal with dual-tone color scheme, a headlamp cowl, and a color-coordinated stopper in place of pillion seat.
Both motorcycles are powered by a 223 cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine which produces 17 PS and 17 Nm of torque when mated to a 5-speed transmission. The Royal Enfield Thunderbird and Bajaj Avenger rivals feature traditional suspension setup (telescopic front fork and twin hydraulic rear springs) and sit on 120/80-17 front and 130/90-15 rear tyres.
Alloy wheels are standard. Braking system is composed of 280 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum. The bikes has a fuel economy of 41 kmpl.
The UM Vegas employs a bigger oil-cooled single-cylinder motor which displaces 279.5 cc. Paired with a 5-speed gearbox, the engine is capable of delivering 25.15 PS and 23 Nm of torque. The claimed fuel economy stands at 35 kmpl.
