To expand options for customers and handle the intensifying competition, Hyundai will be launching multiple new models and facelifts in 2026
In 2025, Hyundai’s major launches included the Creta Electric and all-new Venue. Hyundai also introduced Knight Editions of Creta/i20/Alcazar and the Aura S AMT, the most affordable automatic variant of the sedan. Hyundai has planned some big launches in 2026 as well, including an entirely new compact electric SUV and the Bayon crossover. Let’s get more details about these new cars.
New Sub 4m Electric SUV
Hyundai has planned a major push in the B segment in 2026. While the Venue and Exter already exist, introducing new models will enhance the brand’s firepower against rivals. One of these will be a new compact electric SUV, Hyundai’s first dedicated localized EV for India. Expected to be launched at an affordable price, Hyundai’s new compact electric SUV will take on rivals such as Tata Nexon EV and Punch EV. Only limited details are available right now, such as the availability of a standard range and a long-range variant.
The standard range will be more accessible and suitable for urban commutes. In comparison, the long-range variant will be suitable for highway drives and intercity trips. Hyundai’s new compact electric SUV will have an advanced infotainment system and OTA updates. Safety package will include Level 2 ADAS features for driving and parking. It is possible that this electric SUV could go on sale as the Venue EV.
Bayon Crossover
In the ICE segment, Hyundai could introduce the Bayon crossover to take on the growing dominance of Maruti Fronx. Key USPs that can attract buyers include European styling, premium features and an accessible price point. Reports also suggest that the Bayon could get a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine as well as a hybrid powertrain. While the Bayon is 4,180 mm long in European markets, the India-spec model is expected to be a sub-4-meter SUV. Launch is expected around mid-2026.
Verna Facelift
Several Hyundai models will be getting a facelift in 2026. Hyundai Verna facelift will have refreshed exteriors, featuring vertically-oriented headlamps, repositioned LED DRLs and updated front and rear bumpers. New alloys and revised tail lights are expected as well. Inside, Verna facelift could get a new steering wheel and curved dual screens. Powertrain options are expected to be carried over from the current model.
i20 Facelift
Other Hyundai facelifts in 2026 will also be getting an exterior refresh. In terms of equipment list, the i20 facelift is expected to get dual 10.2-inch TFT screens and a more modern dashboard. Other possibilities include a 360° camera, ventilated front seats and ADAS suite. Powertrain options will remain unchanged for 2026 Hyundai i20.
Exter Facelift
Hyundai Exter, the brand’s most affordable SUV, is expected to get a facelift around mid-2026. Test mules have been spotted, but details about interior updates are limited. New feature additions are likely with the 2026 Exter facelift. Powertrain options are expected to remain unchanged.
Tucson Facelift
Coming to Tucson, the SUV was recently removed from Hyundai’s official website. It has sparked speculation that the facelift version could be in the works, with launch planned in 2026. The updated version is expected to come with significant design changes and technology upgrades.
