Fiat Chrysler Automobiles extends the Jeep Compass lineup in India with a new Trailhawk variant, which is currently being tested. Spied in a distinct shade of Hydro Blue, the new Jeep Compass Trailhawk is slated to launch sometime in July at an expected price of INR 24 lakhs.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk will have sharp off-road focus and will be easily distinguished with state of the art styling elements.
As a more rugged version of the Compass, it will boast of new front and rear fascias, massive wheel arches, black hood decal, Ruby Red recovery hooks and blackened grille, fog lamp bezels, mirrors roof rails and window surrounds. It will sit on 17” alloy wheels finished in a dual black and silver color tone and boast of Trail Rated fender badges and Trailhawk tailgate badge.
Interiors, done up in a red and black color scheme, will also spell comforts in the form of all weather mats at the front and rear, Trailhawk badging on seat cover back rests and infotainment via an 8.4” Uconnect NAV touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The seating is in leather as are gear lever, steering wheel and panels.
Jeep Compass Trailhawk gets its power via a 2.0 liter MultiJet II, turbocharged diesel engine offering 173 PS power and 350 Nm torque mated to a 9 speed automatic transmission. Being an adventure centric vehicle, the Trailhawk will receive high ground clearance at 225mm and bumpers designed for better approach angles. It will also get Jeep Active Drive Low 4×4 system and Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management system with Rock Mode.
In terms of competition in India, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk will take on the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and Volkswagen Tiguan.
