Updated BMW i8 to be unveiled at 2015 Geneva Motor Show with new interior trims
Updated BMW i8 to be showcased at 2015 Geneva Motor Show in early March, with an array of changes to its already futuristic interiors. It will be offered with “Pure Impulse Experience program” as standard which is boasted to comprise of “exclusive lifestyle options in the areas of culture, design, travel and gastronomy in keeping with the progressive and sustainable ‘next premium’ approach of the BMW i brand.”
Optional interior packages will include Carpo Carum Grey interior which brings perforated Carum Grey leather seats, Amido metallic accents, BMW i Blue seat belts and contrast upholstery stitching.
Exterior embellishments will involve high-gloss black brake calipers which should be ordered separately, and so should new leather engine cover be.
BMW i8 is propelled by a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.5 litre TwinPower Turbo three-cylinder engine and an electric motor powered by lithium-ion battery pack. The car enjoys combined peak power output of 362 PS, enabling acceleration from 0-100 kmph in 4.4 seconds and electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph. Yet, the i8 manages 47.61 kmpl mileage and can run up to 37 km without cranking the engine at all.
Current model of BMW i8 is set for launch in India tomorrow in the presence of Sachin Tendulkar.
