Upward of 1 lakh Mahindra Xylo vehicles on Indian roads: Mini Xylo MPV from M&M in 2012
Ever since the M&M Xylo was launched it has attracted a great deal of attention and attracted buyers like bees to honey. What exactly does this vehicle have that has caused such tremendous demand? For one, it is a stylish looking vehicle, user friendly, economically priced and has won several awards such as the SUV of the Year Award, Family Car of the Year Award and is best suited for women drivers.
It has gained a market share of 25% in 2012 this year’s Xylo comes with 50 new changes and features and is being offered in five variants powered by three engine options which also includes the 120 BHP m Hawk engine.
Having crossed the 1 lakh mark in Indian roads shows how popular this Xylo really is and to what level it reaches customer satisfaction. The face lifted Xylo is priced at INR 7.73 lakhs for the base D2 variant and INR 10.25 for the top E9 variant.
It was first launched in 2009 when the company sold 90,000 units in three years and ever since then it has been going from strength to strength. A Mini Xylo is expected to enter the Indian auto market in time for the festive season at the end of this year.

With the launch of the Stylish New Xylo in this year, which boasted of 50 new changes and features, the Xylo has been instrumental in providing the ‘Time of your Life’ to its customers. It also includes five variants powered by three distinct engine options including the powerful 120 BHP m Hawk engine. Further, a high level of customer satisfaction with the Xylo has enabled it to command a market share of 25% in FY 2012 (SIAM, UV2 Category), in the core segment of MPVs.

It has won the ‘MPV of the year’ award from ET Zigwheels, ‘UV of the year’ award from CNBC Overdrive and NDTV Profit. It was also awarded the ‘Family Car of the year’ by BBC Top Gear. The Xylo was rated highest in ‘Customer satisfaction and best suited for urban women’ in the HT Mars survey of 2010. Xylo has also entered the Limca book of records for fastest west east rally by a 4 wheel vehicle.
