Piaggio Group has presented the Vespa 946 Red, with sales profits to go towards the fight against AIDS and the Elettrica, first electric scooter at the ongoing EICMA Show. Of each Vespa 946 Red sold, $150 will be donated to the Global Fund to subsidize 500 day HIV treatment.
Vespa 946 receives an aesthetic design and is thus named to commemorate the year Vespa was born in 1946. It gets a steel body and aluminum components while it is powered by a single cylinder 125cc three valve, air cooled engine with fuel injection system.
Piaggio Group also gears up for the official launch of Vespa 946 Emporio Armani in India on November 15. Vespa 946 Emporio Armani is a limited edition 125cc scooter while Vespa will also launch Vespa 70th Anniversary Edition in the country.
Vespa 946 Emporio Armani scooter could become the most expensive scooter on Indian roads with an expected price tag of INR 9 lakhs. It gets Armani signature color palette and a combination of grey and green which will be visible under certain light. A distinctive Emporio Armani moniker will spell its exclusivity.
Vespa 946 Emporio Armani scooter will be powered by a 125cc, four stroke, mono cylinder engine offering 11.7 hp peak power and 10.3 Nm peak torque. It will get LED headlamps and tail lamps along with an LCD panel, traction control system and anti slip regulator while it will sit on 12” alloy wheels.
