The new Vespa 946 Emporio Armani scooter was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier last year. It was launched in India back in November 2016, at a starting price of INR 12.04 lakh, ex-showroom. Launched as a collector’s item, Piaggio was not looking at generating sales out of this product.

But, in its 10 month stint in India, the scooter did not get a single taker in the entire country. The reason it has now been discontinued, is not because of 0 sales, but because the Piaggio-Armani contract has now come to an end.
