Vespa, Aprilia dealers across Karnataka open up following lockdown

All company dealerships across Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Bijapur and Mangalore are now open while production operations have commenced at the company’s Baramati plant

Vespa and Aprilia dealerships in Karanataka have opened doors following over 45 days of lockdown. The dealerships in Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Mangalore, Bijapur, Davangere, Shimoga and Udupi have all been given strict instructions in following safety and hygiene standards so as to safeguard not only the health of its workers and staff but also visitors to these showrooms and workshops.

Along with opening of these dealerships, the opening of other dealer showrooms will be done in a phased manner over the next few days following relaxation of lock down by local authorities. Sanitization protocols of all touch points are in place and everyone will have to adhere to strict social distancing norms.

Use of Aarogya Setu App, contactless greeting, wearing of protective gear such as masks and gloves and use of hand sanitizers have been emphasized. Customers have been advised to call in and prebook their service requirements so as to avoid crowding.

To address the concerns of customers, Mr. Diego Graffi, Chairman and MD, Piaggio India, has confirmed that warranty and free service schedules of all Vespa and Aprilia products have been extended. Customers with expired warranty or free services which were due during this lockdown period can avail of these services for 30 days post the nationwide lockdown being lifted. With this endeavour, the Piaggio Group is among a long list of automakers that have extended similar benefits to its customers.

The Piaggo Group has been much to help the Government of India in fighting the coronavirus pandemic. They have extended support in the form of food and shelter to over 1,000 migrants near the Piaggio factory in Baramati. The company has also installed a sanitization unit at the Sassoon Hospital in Pune for healthcare workers and distributed Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to these frontline workers.

Where launches are concerned, Piaggio Group gears up for the launch of the Aprilia SXR 160, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. Launch date is slated for sometime later this year. Piaggio is also set to launch the new SR160, a limited edition Vespa Racing Sixties along with several Vespa facelifts in the second quarter of 2020.

Last month, Vespa and Aprilia also introduced special discount schemes on its BS4 models upto Rs.15,000. The company has completed update of its scooters range, to now comply with BS6 emission norms.
