Vespa GTS 300, the range topping variant in Vespa lineup, was showcased at IBW 2015 in Vagator, Goa, hinting that it could be launched in India possibly this year. The model looks almost the same as other Vespa variants, but it is the high-performance engine and other mechanicals that raise its pride, and price to Rs. 4.1 lakhs in the U.S.
Features include two-channel ABS and traction control, assisting already dynamically-sound scooter with appreciated high-speed stability. Braking duty is performed by 220 mm disc rotors upfront and rear, helping the Vespa GTS 300 brake from claimed top speed of 128 kmph. Ride quality is kept in balance by mono hydraulic shock absorber upfront and twin shock setup at the rear.
Word around is that Vespa GTS 300 India launch will be slated for end of this year, as the scooter is presently undergoing homologation here. The model will be imported as CBU, and would be priced at around Rs. 4 lakh, to be the most expensive scooter ever sold in India.
