2018 Vespa Notte 125 Night Edition launched in India – Rivals new Suzuki Burgman

Vespa is one of the few scooter brands in India which has been continuously focusing on catering to a very niche segment of scooter buyers in the country. In spite of many players launching cheaper scooters (some even copying the retro look of Vespa), to generate more sales, Vespa has managed to stand out from the crowd.

Today, they launched yet another premium scooter. First showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the new Vespa Notte 125 premium scooter has been officially launched in India. Price starts from Rs 70,285, ex-showroom.

The design plays a very big role in keeping Vespa at a different level as compared to rivals. In the case of new Notte 125 (notte meaning night), design is instantly appeals instantly. Being a night edition, the scooter has been given an all-black treatment. In the front, it features stylish headlamp with chrome finish on the borders. It gets black alloys, steel handle bars for rear passenger, well contoured and comfortable new seats.

Powering the scooter is the same 3 valve 125 cc state of the art engine with aluminium cylinder head which is already seen on board the existing 125 cc scooters from Vespa. This engine delivers maximum power of 10.06 PS at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

Talking about features, it gets classic 3 spoke stylish alloys which are finished in black paint. It also gets a modern digital / analogue console, broader tubeless tyres (110-70/11 Front and 120-70/10 Rear), a range of new accessories, monocoque full – steel body construction.

Overall Dimensions (LXBXH) – 1770 x 690 x 1140), 200 mm ventilated disc brake in the front, aircraft derived single side arm front suspension, hydraulic rear suspension, auto ignition, stabilizing torque for accurate steering, low speed balance and high speed stability.

In India, this new scooter rivals the recently launched Suzuki Burgman 125 and the Honda Activa 125. Of the three, it is the Honda Activa 125 which is priced cheapest at Rs 64,000, Burgman 125 at Rs 68,000 and top of the line is Vespa Notte 125, at Rs 70,285. All prices are ex-showroom.
