The vehicle will be available in two engine options which will include a 2.0 liter TDI diesel offering 175 hp while a 2.0 liter TSI petrol engine offers 207 hp both of which will be mated to a 6 speed manual or DSG gearbox. Prices at slated to be in the £27,945 range for the base model while the TDI DSG model will be priced at £29,395.
Beetle Fender edition will be limited in number and will be fitted with a 2.0 liter TDI* engine offering 138 hp mated to a 6 speed manual or DSG transmission. Interiors will have a Sunburst wood dash board and 400W Fender sound system.
Volkswagen will also be bringing in the Golf R Cabriolet, a video of which was recently revealed. VW will probably reveal more when the vehicle makes its official debut either at the Detroit Auto Show in January or at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013.
