The month of October proved to be noteworthy for Volkswagen Group in the face of an otherwise tumultuous situation all across auto markets the world over and specially across Western Europe. The company sold 788,700 units during the month of October 2012 resulting in a 14.6% increase over 688,000 units delivered in October 2011. Taking the period January to October 2012 into account, Volkswagen Group delivered 7.50 million vehicles with a 10.2% increase over the same period in the previous year when the company delivered 6.80 million.
Enhanced performance was experienced in countries of North America, China and Russia where demand escalated. Markets of South America and Brazil have also proved to be positive during the January to October 2012 period with the Volkswagen Group handing over 842,200 units to South America out of which 644,000 were delivered to Brazilian markets.
Sales across Asia Pacific too were strong with 2.56 million vehicle delivered in the 10 month period out of which 2.26 were delivered to Chinese markets while Indian deliveries reached 94,900 units, up 3.6% over the same period in the previous year. Volkswagen Passenger and Commercial Cars, Audi, SEAT and Skoda all saw enhanced performance on similar lines during the period January to October 2012 following increased demand from customers all across the globe.
