Made in India Volkswagen Vento earns 5 Stars in crash test – Video

The Volkswagen Vento sedan, manufactured at the VW plant in Chakan, Pune was put to the Latin NCAP crash test with scores of 5 stars.

2015 VW Vento sedan produced at the company plant in Chakan, Pune has scored 5 star rating in adult passenger safety and 3 star rating in child safety in the Latin NCAP crash test. The 2015 VW Vento sedan was tested for safety equipment that included front seat belt pretensioners, dual front airbags and ISOFIX mounting points besides seat belt reminders and ABS system.

The results showed that both driver and passenger heads were well protected due to the existence of front airbags while seatbelts with pretentioners and load limiters also met with approval. Bodyshell of the VW Vento also rated as stable while it could also be able to withstand added loading.

Given a 3 star rating where child occupant protection was concerned was due to the existence of ISOFIX anchorage. It was also devoid of warning markings for installation of Child Restraint System in the front passenger seat.

For adult occupants, 2015 VW Vento put to the crash test scored 14.73 out of a maximum score of 17.00 thus earning it a 5 star rating. For child occupants VW Vento scored 34.16 out of a maximum score of 49.00 due to which it received a 3 star rating. Latin NCAP also conducts side impact tests only on cars which receive a 5 star rating. 2015 Vento also passed the side impact test

In India, 2015 Volkswagen Vento is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options that includes a 1.2 liter and 1.6 liter petrol and a 1.5 liter diesel engine all mated to 5 speed manual or 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
