With new connected car technologies and new safety features added to the Volkswagen Vento lineup, company dealers are offered hefty discounts to buyers. These discounts extend to Rs 60,000 in terms of a cash discount while exchange bonus is at Rs 40,000.
The Volkswagen Vento gets updated with a new exterior color scheme. It also gets a host of new safety features to comply with new safety norms coming into effect in India.
This includes two side airbags offered along with front two airbags on the Vento Highline Plus while updates also include new 16” alloy wheels finished in Portago Grey on this top end variant while Highline variants get 15” alloy wheels. Other updates include body colored rear spoiler, dual tome interiors, an illuminated glove box and USB charging port.
Volkswagen has also introduced a new telematics system called Volkswagen Connect on three of its cars: Polo, Ameo and Vento. This system allows users to connect their cars to their smartphone with a plug and play data dongle fitted to the cars on board diagnostics port. Once connected, the customers can use features such as trip tracking, fuel cost monitor, driver behavior monitor and location sharing besides SOS calling and service booking etc.
Volkswagen Vento is powered by both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.6 liter petrol engine offers 105 PS peak power and 153 Nm peak torque mated to a 5 speed transmission. The 1.2 liter TFSI, direct injection, turbocharged petrol engine is capable of 105 PS power and 175 Nm torque mated to a 7 speed DSG while the single 1.5 liter diesel engine delivers 110 PS power and 250 Nm torque mated to 5 speed manual gearbox of 7 speed DSG.
Volkswagen Vento is priced between Rs 8.38-14.02 lakhs and takes on the Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Yaris.
