Volvo Auto India is opening 4 showrooms across West Delhi, Surat, Chandigarh and Kolkata within the next month to expand its market potential here. With the new dealers, VAI is confident of expanding its market share and creating more patrons for its brand. Volvo Cars India 2014 S80West Delhi and Surat dealership is owned by existing dealers Mr. Jaipal in Gurgaon by the name Swede Auto and by Mr. Dhaval Thakkar in Ahmedabad by the name Autobots , respectively. Chandigarh Dealership is owned by Mr. Sumit Passi from Krishna Group, which has been in the automobile business since 1967 and operate Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle, JCB Earth Moving Equipment, Honda 2-wheelers, Skoda Auto Passenger Cars, BMW Passenger Cars and other premium passenger cars dealerships.

Increasing Volvo presence in India will help the automaker improve its sales volume, which stood at 913 in 2013 as compared to 821 in 2012. While that is a double digit sales growth, India’s luxury auto market has been growing consistently, and Volvo is looking at local assembly at the earliest to help reduce car prices which are sky high because of its CBU approach as compared with CKD.
