Volvo Concept Coupe defines future design identity: 2015 XC90 teased
Volvo Concept Coupe is seen with hand crafted interiors which include leather lined instrument panel and inlays of wood along with a large touch screen on its center console. Where engine details are concerned, the Volvo Concept Coupe would receive a 2.0 liter high performance Drive E petrol engine mated to an electric motor situated on its rear axle. It is via this hybrid system that the engine delivers a combined output of 400 hp and over 600 Nm peak torque.
The Concept Coupe is designed at Sweden led by Senior Vice President, Thomas Ingenlath and his styling team. It is the two door design that is distinctly borrowed from the Volvo P1800 coupe of the 1960s while inspiration is also received from Camaro and Lexus SC where roofline and rear lamp designs are concerned.
“The Volvo Concept Coupé is no futuristic dream car. It is designed to demonstrate the capability of our new architecture: the confident stance, the proportions and the most prominent design signatures. Even though the all-new XC90 is an entirely different type of car, you will recognise the connection instantly when it is revealed next year,” says Thomas Ingenlath. More information can be found in the press release below.
