Volvo launches India’s largest capacity multiaxle dump trucks at Excon 2015

At Excon 2015, Volvo Trucks unveils two large capacity 5 axle dump trucks which could be utilized for various mining operations in India.

Volvo Trucks has unveiled FMX 520 10×4 dump truck with 26.1 Cu.m body and FMX 480 10×4 dump truck with 24 Cu.m body. These two offerings were unveiled at the five day ongoing Excon 2015, South Asia’s largest exhibition on construction equipment and technology.

Volvo FMX 520 10×4 and FMX 480 10×4 are based on the Volvo FMX platform, which is designed to perform in the toughest of environment, going a long way in enhancing productivity. While FMX 520 10×4 dump truck offer 33% higher capacity, FMX 480 10×4 is capable of 28% higher capacity as compared to the present 8×4 offerings in the market.

These new dump trucks from Volvo Trucks introduced at Excon 2015 come especially to cater to the increasing demands in productivity and higher demands of coal production. Both the new dump trucks are seen with Volvo’s FMX cab, high capacity D13A diesel engines offering 440 hp peak power.

They also receive Volvo Engine Compression brakes while the platform is fitted with 3 steerable axles and enhanced suspension best suited for touch mining conditions and high capacity body configurations of 26.1 and 24 Cu.m with overburden functions. Both the dump trucks from Volvo Trucks demonstrate Dynafleet telematics system allowing drivers to enhance fuel saving capacities resulting in better efficiency in a cost effective way.

Volvo Trucks also offers the best in class aftermarket onsite support. The company has over 130 touch points and has recently launched Volvo Financial Services to aid customers in all sorts of financing terms and conditions.
