New Volvo V40 is being shown at Geneva Motor Show 2016 after minor updates. Upfront, the small car now wears new headlights, the T-shaped LED daytime running lights aka Thor’s Hammer at Volvo.
The front grille redesign incorporates vertical slats. New exterior colors and additional alloy wheel designs are added too. V40 is available in five colours, four of which are variations in blue. Mussel Blue, Bursting Blue, Luminous Sand, Amazon Blue and Denim Blue fill the palette. Eight alloy wheel options are available for regular V40, R-Design and Cross Country variants.
Facelifted Volvo V40 will go on sale in Europe and select overseas markets in 2016. The American market isn’t a part of the new V40’s playing field, but the next gen small Volvo car could be headed in that direction. Deliveries in Europe will begin in June this year.
New Volvo V40 redesign draws inspiration from the auto manufacturer’s ’90’ car series, namely S90 saloon, V90 estate, and XC90 SUV.
Badging on the front grille is larger and an improved integrated radar sensor is used. The Cross Country variant continues to sport black plastic cladding, and an elevated ride height. Car exterior design and sweeping lines and remained as they were.
Interior seat upholstery ‘City Weave’ is on offer. New interior panel trims for the dashboard are included. R-Design variants continue the bodykit lineup and more sporty alloy wheels. There’s also a top end V40 Inscription variant.
