The much awaited Volvo World Golf Challenge recently finished its stint in Chandigarh where Mr. H S Kang was declared a winner with 38 points in the Handicap Category 0-12 while Col J S Kang with 35 points was winner in the 13-24 Handicap Category.
Now the games move to Coimbatore where Mr Ragavendar Naidu with 37 points was winner in the Handicap Category 0–12 while Mr T S Krishnakumar was winner in the Handicap Category 13-24 with 33 points. A special trophy is being offered to Mr G M Rajamani in addition to which he will also be given a special offer to buy a Volvo car from Volvo Auto India.
Mr. G M Rajamani made a hole-in-one on the 16th hole, a par-3 with a yardage of 191 yards. There will be a special trophy designed for Mr. G M Rajamani. He will also get a special offer for the purchase of a Volvo car from Volvo Auto India. Coimbatore Golf Challenge was attended by avid golfers who congregated in large numbers to witness the competition.
A specially designed trophy The Blu Lotus was created by well known glass blower artist Atul Bakash which depicted the Scandinavian theme of Volvo Cars Designed Around You into the art work. Golfers also competed for the exclusive Blu Jacket which had been designed by fashion designer Ritu Beri. Synonymous with the design of Volvo Cars, this jacket too is fashioned in blue with simple details and in soft fabric.

The Maharaja of Executive Golf reaches Coimbatore
‘Volvo World Golf Challenge India 2012’ to be played at ‘The Coimbatore Golf Club’.
Coimbatore, 26 August, 2012: Swedish luxury carmaker Volvo Auto India brings its popular global sports property the ‘Volvo World Golf Challenge’ (VWGC) to Coimbatore. The first tournament was held in Chandigarh in June where Mr. H S Kang (38 points) was the winner in the Handicap Category 0-12 and Col. J S Kang (36 points) was the winner in the Handicap Category 13-24.
Coimbatore saw a close nail-biting finish with Mr. Ragavendar Naidu (37 points) emerging as the winner in the Handicap Category 0-12 and Mr. T S Krishnakumar (33 points) winning in the Handicap Category 13-24.

However what will be more exciting is to see the final 14 golfers from 7 cities to compete for the exclusive Blu Jacket. The ‘Blu Jacket’ is a hallmark of art and luxury, craftily interweaving Volvo Cars’ Scandinavian sophistication and design diva Ritu Beri’s uber-chic craftwork. It is inspired by Volvo Car’s brand philosophy – Designed Around You. The fabric is soft like the leather of the Volvo car, comfortable as the seats; it is chic like the Volvo Car design. After Chandigarh and Coimbatore the VWGC will now travel to New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kochi and Pune. The two winners from each city will compete at the India Finals.
