Volvo Car India has introduced ‘Hassle Free Offer’ and complimentary accessories for its entry-level product, XC40
This monsoon, it’s raining offers. Moreso, if you’re in the market for a Volvo XC40 compact luxury crossover SUV. Volvo Car India has announced special offers for the 2020MY XC40 which originally carries a price tag of Rs 39.90 lakh ex-showroom.
The Swedish automaker has introduced an all-new ‘Hassle Free Offer’ for Volvo XC40 customers, bringing prices down to Rs 36.90 lakh ex-showroom. Alongside, the company is offering complimentary accessories worth Rs 1 lakh for the BMW X1-rival. In other words, the 2020MY Volvo XC40 BS6 receives discounts up to Rs 4 lakh.
Volvo Car India states that the offer was introduced as part of the country’s 74th Independence Day celebrations on August 15. This is also the date which Mahindra & Mahindra has chosen to (finally) unveil the second-gen BS6-compliant Thar offroader.
Volvo XC40 BS6 – Overview
Launched in December 2019, the Volvo XC40 BS6 is available only in T4 R-Design trim. In typical Volvo fashion, the XC40 is loaded with a host of comfort, convenience and safety features. Volvo Car India currently has five products in select trims/variants: XC40, XC60, V90 Cross Country, S90 and XC90.
Aesthetic highlights include dual-tone paint scheme, gloss black details, adaptive full-LED headlamps, 19-inch 5-spoke wheels (optional), unique styling principles and compact dimensions. It has an impressive ground clearance of 211mm while wheelbase stands at 2,702mm.
The Volvo XC40 is the only car in its segment that offers radar-based active safety features. It incorporates City Safety with Steering Assist which helps prevent collisions with cyclists, other vehicles, pedestrians and large animals at speeds up to 50km/h.
On the inside, the XC40 features a 9.0-inch portrait touchscreen infotainment system supporting both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-car Spotify, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, wireless charging, 14-speaker Harman Kardon music system, powered tailgate, two-zone climate control, etc. Where safety is concerned, the crossover packs six airbags, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera, HDC, lane-keep assist, collision mitigation, etc.
Volvo XC40 T4 R-Design specs
In BS4 era, the Volvo XC40 comes only in petrol format. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine makes 190hp @ 4,700rpm and 300Nm @ 1,400-4,000rpm. This is coupled to an 8-speed TC automatic transmission that powers the front wheels.
Across the globe, the Volvo XC40 competes with the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3 and MINI Cooper Countryman. Volvo’s all-electric ‘XC40 Recharge’ variant is being considered for the Indian market.
