In a cutting edge design and with state of the art technology and latest in infotainment, 2018 Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid T8 Excellence was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 1.31 crores. Until now, it was only offered with the Excellence trim.
But not anymore. Now you have the option to buy the flagship Volvo XC90 T8 at a much affordable price, thanks to the introduction of Inscription variant. Price of Volvo XC90 Inscription is Rs 96.65 lakhs – about Rs 35 lakhs lesser than the Excellence trim.
The Twin Engine powertrain includes a 2.0 liter, four cylinder gasoline engine from Volvo Drive E range with two forms of forced induction. The supercharger boosts power at the bottom end of the range while the turbocharger comes into play at higher revs.
The gasoline engine works in conjuncture with a 60 kW electric motor powered by a 9.2 kWh lithium ion battery pack. These two engine together offer 400 hp peak power and 472 lb/ft (640 Nm) peak torque. Speaking about performance, the new Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds.
In addition to best in class engine, you also get state of the art interiors with 3 row / 7 seats arrangement (Excellence trim comes with standard four seat arrangement). Apart from that, you also get light wood paneling and Nappa leather.
Feature list is basically the same as seen on the XC90 Inscription diesel. It also gets sunroof, air suspension, touchscreen infotainment system, 19 speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, etc.
