VW India has announced new special edition versions of their Polo, Vento and the newly launched Ameo. Along with announcing the new special Crest Edition, VW India has also announced a unique offer – Buy today, Pay EMIs starting from 2018.
Demonetization of old INR 500 and INR 1,000 currency notes has affected the automotive industry in the worst way possible, especially the luxury car industry.
For example, in Kolkata, there was not a single booking made at a luxury car dealer in the month of November 2016, post the announcement of demonetization by PM Narendra Modi. The situation is not as bad with car manufacturers like Maruti, Hyundia, Tata, Mahindra, Ford, Volkswagen, etc, those who cater to the mass segment. But they too are under pressure. VW India’s new ‘buy today, pay emi in 2018’ scheme is one such example.
Speaking about the new VW Crest Editions, it is offered with all trims of the Ameo, the Comfortline and Highline Polo and the Highline Vento. Updates on offer include white car body, matte black roof, door step garnish, a stylish side foil, detachable window blinds, ‘Crest’ badge on C pillar, beige leather seat covers with diamond stitching, front centre arm-rest along with storage space and new flooring mats.
Volkswagen has not revealed the prices of these cars in their media release. Engine options on offer with all three cars are pretty much same. These are 1.2-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel and a 1.6-liter petrol (only Vento).
