Volkswagen XL Sport Concept is powered by Ducati engine

Volkswagen XL Sport ConceptVolkswagen XL Sport Concept measures 4,291mm in length, 1,847mm in width and stands 1,152mm tall. Wheelbase has also been increased to 2,424mm as compared to the XL1 which sits on a wheelbase of 2,224mm. Interiors continue with the same basic design as seen in the XL1 while XL Sport receives a unique instrument cluster and carbon fibre parts.

With the world’s most powerful two cylinder engine on board, the 197 hp Volkswagen XL Sport Concept can hit top speed of 270 kmph while acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 5.7 seconds. Promising incredible track performance, XL Sport receives wider tyres. XL Sport stands on 205/40-18 front and 265/35-18 rear tires along with forged-magnesium wheels.

Wing doors of the XL Sport are hinged at two points – low on A Pillars and just above the windshield in the roof frame, similar to XL1, the 111 kmpl car. The doors swivel upwards and forward extending far into the roof so as to enable easy entry and exit. Volkswagen has not confirmed whether this concept will enter production or not.
