Ford India has seen domestic sales touch the 7,253 mark during the month of February 2013. Markets have been difficult and yet the company has been able to see an increase of 16% where exports were concerned. Exports during the month of February stood at 2,763 units an increase of 16% over 2,389 units in the same month a year earlier. Domestic sales however, dropped drastically to 4,490 units in February 2013 as compared to 8,035 units in February 2012.
Ford India is going full steam ahead in expanding overseas markets while retaining India as a regional export hum specially where their small car sector is concerned. Expansion of showrooms is on the cards while a new ‘alterrain’ model of Endeavor SUV was also launched. This Endeavor alterrain Edition sports eye catching alloy wheels and a new front grille with a distinctive nameplate badge. Rear spoiler and chrome exhaust trims are added with a fifth door mirror adds to its appeal. It is this alterrain vehicle that will participate in the adventure driving series that Ford India will undertake along with National Geographic Channel.
This adventure series will feature five celebrities each being offered an Endeavor with each of them undertaking the adventure in diverse conditions while offering their own personal experiences. This week, the all new Figo Celebration Edition hatchback has been launched for a price of Rs 4.15 lakhs for the petrol variant, and Rs 6.16 lakhs for a diesel car. Concurrently, Ford is also running the EcoSport Urban Discoveries, the company’s single largest product experiential pre-launch campaign in India.
