New Yamaha 125cc scooter based on Nozza Grande to launch on 7th May, 2015

Vietnam received a new Yamaha 125cc scooter in August 2014, named Yamaha Nozza Grande. The model was designed specifically for Asian markets, and it made its sales debut in the South East Asian country.

Yamaha Nozza Grande is being manufactured only in Vietnam as of now, and was codenamed 08X there.
Upcoming Yamaha 125cc scooter is known to be codenamed 04X, which suggested it could be a scooter using at least platform and powertrain of Yamaha Nozza Grande. It could also be a carbureted version of the Vietnam model, since the latter is driven by a fuel injected engine.

Anyway, Yamaha has teased the upcoming 125 cc scooter, by giving a glimpse of the front apron centre garnish, which actually resembles the Yamaha Nozza Grande‘s. The Indian model is expected to look like the Nozza, and receive similar features. The scooter would have chrome treatment in abundance and be planning to take on the segment leader on many accounts, starting with looks. It will have Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access & Swish, and Piaggio Vespa for rivals.

The new Yamaha 125cc scooter would most certainly equip telescopic front fork, spring loaded rear shock and front disc brake (probably as an option on high end variant).

This new scooter will be manufactured at the Japanese motorcycle maker’s new / second plant in Chennai.
