Yamaha M-Slaz with custom parts at 2017 Bangkok Motor Show (LIVE)

Launched at a starting price of THB 89,500 (or INR 1.66 lakh), new Yamaha M-Slaz is now on display at the 2017 Bangkok Motor Show. Design of the new M-Slaz has been inspired by the larger MT-09 sportsbike.

Yamaha M-Slaz is powered by the same 150 cc single cylinder four stroke engine which is seen on board the Yamaha R15. This engine is capable of generating max power of 17 PS at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 15 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Power transmission is taken care by a six speed gearbox.

Apart from the engine and gearbox, the Yamaha M-Slaz’ chassis too is similar to that of Yamaha R15. Both bikes are built on the Delta box chassis, which results in better riding dynamics. Compared to the R15, M-Slaz is designed to tackle urban roads. It is easy to manoeuvre thanks to new seating position and handlebar design.

It is priced higher than the fully faired R15 (V2), because of advanced features on offer. These are in the form of LED headlights, LED taillights, start/stop button, stylish rear view mirrors, upside down front forks, exhaust cowls, engine covers, raised pillion seat, coloured handlebars. It also gets LED backlit digital display, monoshock rear suspension, 17 inch allos, disc brakes (no ABS), Front Tyre 110/70-17 M/C 54s, Rear Tyre – 130/70-17 M/C 62s.

Two of the M-Slaz which are on display at the show, feature custom parts. These includes OHLINS FORK Valve Kit, Ohlins Brake levers, Yoshimura exhaust with carbon fiber parts, fuel tank lid with carbon fiber, engine cover, etc. We have captured all these parts in the image gallery below.
