Yamaha Motors India registers 40 percent sales growth in Jan 2012

Yamaha Motors announced their sales figures for January 2012 earlier today. Compared to January 2011, Yamaha Motors registered an increase in sales by 40% for the month of January 2012. In January 2011, Yamaha Motors had sold 21,974 units in the domestic market and in the same month this year, Yamaha Motors sold 26,300 units.

Exports too saw an increase by over two folds as last year in January, Yamaha Motors exported 6,523 units while this year in Jan they exported 13,640 units. Overall, Yamaha Motors India sold 39,940 units compared to 28,597 sold in Jan 2011.

Commenting on their success in Indian automobile industry, Mr Hiroyuki Suzuki, MD & CEO, Yamaha Motors India, said, “Continuing with 2011 Sales trend, we are very happy with the growth registered in January and plan to keep the momentum high for the rest of 2012. We attribute this growth to the success of our flagship models both in the deluxe & premium segments – R15, FZ series & SZ series. We are planning to enhance our Best 3S (Sales, Service & Spares) set-up in tier-2 & tier-3 cities and increase our customer touch points in the rural areas to further boost our sales.”
