Yamaha MT25 spied completely undisguised, with MT25 sticker on fuel tank
Yamaha MT25 sportsbike could launch in Indonesia by June-July 2015, where it will be seen with some styling modifications but will continue to be powered by the same engine as seen on the R25.
Powering the Yamaha MT25 will be a 250cc twin cylinder engine offering 36 PS peak power at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm peak torque at 10,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed transmission. On board modifications will include changes to seating position and handle bars offering riders a more upright stance.
Visual changes on board the Yamaha MT25 are also seen in the in the form of a new fuel tank, modified headlights, a new compact instrument panel and body colored sump guard. Distinctive to Yamaha styling, chassis and wheels receive the company’s trademark blue finish while unique decals are seen on fuel tank.
Yamaha MT25 enters production at Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing where it will be produced along with R25 and R3. Yamaha MT25 once launched will compete with KTM Duke 250, Kawasaki Z250 and Honda CBR 250R.
Despite the fact that Yamaha is introducing exciting new variants in the compact sportsbike segment, there is no news of these bikes making their way to India. Here, in India, the company is heavily concentrating on mass market commuters and automatic scooters in India. Last month, Yamaha India launched Saluto 125 cc commuter segment motorcycle, and today, they will unveil 125 cc scooter, called Fascino (known as Nozza Grande in markets abroad).
