New Yamaha R15 V3 features on dealer site – Price Rs 1.2 lakh

In what has been a long wait for Yamaha YZF R15 v3.0, the suspense in now over as the manufacturer seems to have opted for a soft launch. Yamaha YZF R15 v3.0 is available at a listed ex sh price of Rs. 1.2 Lakh on a company dealership website. Bookings are now open.

Yamaha R15 v3.0 measures 1,990 mm in length, 725 mm in width and 1,135 mm in height. These dimensions are marginally increased over the Yamaha R15 v2.0. It gets a shorter wheelbase of 1,325mm and ground clearance of 155mm along with seat height which is increased by 15mm to 815mm and a 12 liter fuel tank.

In terms of features, International-spec Yamaha R15 v3.0 gets advanced features like Slipper Clutch and inverted front forks. However, these are not to be seen on the India-spec variant as they will increase the price of the bike.

Engine power to the new Yamaha R15 v3.0 is via a new 155 cc engine which is not only larger than its earlier counterpart but also offers Variable Valve Actuation. This liquid cooled, fuel injected engine offers 19.31 PS peak power and 14.7 Nm peak torque. If the dealership is to be believed, India-spec Yamaha R15 V3 comes with a 149.8 cc engine. It claims to deliver a mileage of 40 kmpl, max power is pegged at 19 hp and max torque at 17 Nm.

In it’s newest avatar the bikes is avialble in six colours: Adrenaline Red, Revving Blue, Sparky Green, Black Raven, Matt Red, and Race Blue. The radial tyres in use measure as follows: Front :90/80-17, Rear :130/70-17. Wheel size: Front :17 inch, Rear :17 inch

The 6 Speed gearbox is mated to a MT and works with a wet , multiple-disc clutch. For safe braking, the bike uses a front brake disc, and rear brake disc. ABS / CBS is on offer. Projector headlamp, and an LED tail lamp take care of light inclusions, apart from the turn signal lamps. The bike runs on a Transistor Controlled Ignition (TCI).
