Yamaha R15 V3 price increased in India for the first time – New Price Rs 1.27 lakh

India Yamaha Motor has announced a price hike for Yamaha R15 V3, their flagship 150cc motorcycle in India. No reasons were given for this price hike but other bike makers are also increasing prices of their products following rising raw material costs.

Following this first ever price hike since launch, Yamaha R15 V3, which was earlier priced at Rs 1.25 lakhs now carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 1.27 lakhs. Despite this price hike, the Yamaha R15 V3, which was launched at the 2018 Auto Expo in February offers great value for money. It is among one of the best performance oriented bikes in the 150cc segment, on sale in India and ever since launch.

2018 Yamaha R15 V3 is offered in two color options of Thunder Grey and Racing Blue. It draws inspiration from the Yamaha R1 and R6. It sports 4 LED headlamps of which 2 are for low beam and 2 are for high beam, an all digital instrument console, clip on handlebars, rear set foot pegs, split seats and full LED tail lamps.

The bike is powered by a 155cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offering 19.3 PS power at 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm torque at 8,500 rpm, mated to a 6 speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. The bike receives Variable Valve Actuation allowing for two different valve timings for lower end and top-end performance.

Suspension is via telescopic front and monoshocks at the rear and braking duties are carried out through 282 mm front and 220 mm rear disc. ABS will be introduced on this model sometime in 2019.

Yamaha gears up for launch of MotoGP edition of the R15. This will be the first MotoGP edition of YZF-R15 to launch in India and will be seen in racing blue color scheme with Movistar and ENEOS logos. It will be priced at a premium over its regular counterpart.
