Yamaha R15 V3 now launched in the Philippines for PHP 164,000 (INR 2.1 lakh)
India launch is not planned.
Yamaha Motor continues to launch the new R15 V3 in newer markets, except India. The newest country to receive this state of the art 150 cc segment machine is the Philippines. Here, the bike is priced from PHP 164,000 (INR 2.1 lakh) for the non-ABS variant.
Yamaha R15 v3.0 is seen with all new design and a 155.1cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine with Variable Valve Actuation. This engine produces segment leading 19.31 PS peak power at 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm torque at 8,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
It gets an upgraded suspension system with upside-down forks as seen on the Yamaha M-Slaz. It is the first product in the 150cc segment to receive slipper clutch as standard. Disc brakes are seen at both ends with a larger 282mm unit in the front.
In terms of on board specifications, the new Yamaha R15 v3.0 gets an 11 liter fuel tank. It weighs 137 kgs and sports a Matte Black paint scheme, in addition to race blue and matt red. Upside down forks, LED headlamps, slipper clutch and LED headlamps long with aggressive fairings are also a part of the features to be noted on the Yamaha R15 v3.0. Saddle height and seat position have also been raised to offer better rider and pillion rider comforts.
In India, the bike is not going to be launched. Yamaha India recently upgraded the R15 V2 and R15 S with BS4 compliant engines. This, and the fact that they are soon going to launch a 250 cc fully faired machine based on the FZ25, there seems to be no room for the R15 V3 on the Yamaha India line-up.
