Yamaha XSR900 Abarth limited edition revealed at EICMA

It is for the first time that Yamaha has tied up with Abarth, Italy’s most noted brand as far as car racing is concerned. The result is a limited edition Café Racer Called Yamaha XSR900 Abarth which made debut at EICMA 2016. With production limited to just 695 units, this model will target a new set of audience.

Yamaha XSR900 Abarth receives an 847cc inline triple engine capable of 113 hp peak power which also seen powering the MT-09. The limited edition weighs a total of 169 kgs and has seat height of 830mm.


Modified to deliver retro riding experience, the XSR900 Abarth limited edition gets lightweight carbon fiber fairing and a rear seat cowl along with safety features that include traction control, ABS and slipper clutch. It is seen with Akrapovic exhaust system and since it is limited to just 695 units, it carries a distinctive production numbered aluminum plate indicating its exclusivity.

Yamaha XSR900 Abarth limited edition receives a suede and leather seat with red stitching accentuating its unique grey and red color scheme. It goes on sale from January 17, 2017 via online registrations and the first 95 customers will get an invitation for the exclusive VIP Abarth experience on a first come first serve basis. The balance 600 units will be open to bookings via Yamaha dealerships from April 2017 onwards.


A range of Yamaha XRS900 genuine accessories will also be on offer with the XSR900 Abarth allowing buyers to personalize their bike with their individual preferences. Faster Sons apparel collection is also expanded to include a café racer style tee shirt, sweater and cap.
