Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been associated with Volvo cars for a while and his departure from international football has been beautifully essayed in a new Volvo V90 film. As he says bye to the Swedish national football team, the message that’s loud and clear is ‘One era ends and another begins’.

Having represented the Swedish national football team for 15 years, the captain thanked his fans as he acknowledged his last match in the yellow jersey. The new 4 minute Volvo Cars film focuses on Zlatan’s drive back to Sweden with his family, specifically to a Malmo neighbourhood of Rosengard. Composer Hans Zimmer has worked on the Epilogue film.

Filming the clip was an emotional journey for Ibrahimovic but he says it’s time to hand over to the next gen. Having risen to meteoric heights, Ibra started his career at Malmo FF before the turn of the century, and moved to Ajax soon.

He’s moved across the Italian, French and Spanish leagues with stints at top clubs, Paris St-Germain, Barcelona, Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Anders Gustafsson, Senior Vice President Europe, Middle East and Africa at Volvo Car Group says Zlatan is a strong ambassador for Sweden globally. The player is a ten-time recipient of the Guldbollen (the Golden Ball).
