New Bajaj CT100 electric start launched – Price starts from Rs 38,806

What Bajaj Auto Limited discontinued in 2006 was brought back back to life in 2015. Yes, we are talking about their entry level motorcycle – CT100 motorcycle. After hitting the right note in the market with the CT100, Bajaj Auto announced the launch of CT100 electric variant today. Price starts from INR 38,806 (ex-showroom Price Maharashtra).

New Bajaj CT100 with electric start is on display at company showrooms across India. Sales too have commenced. There are no changes in engine specs, or design. CT100 ES is available in three colour options – Black with silver & red decals, Black with silver & blue decals, and in Red.

Bajaj CT100 with electric start is powered by a single cylinder, 4 stroke 99.27cc engine offering 8.2 hp peak power and 8.05 Nm peak torque while being mated to a 4 speed gearbox. Telescopic forks in front and SNS suspension at the rear along with drum brakes are seen on board the new CT100.

Refreshed looks include new alloy wheels and body graphics while suspension has been modified for better rider comforts. Noticeable changes on the new Bajaj CT100 also includes five spoke alloy wheels, a new exhaust pipe and rear view mirrors, which are borrowed from the Platina.

Commenting on the launch of the CT100 Alloy ES, Mr Eric Vas, President Motorcycle Business, Bajaj Auto Ltd said “The CT100 is the most compelling offering in its segment; it provides customers with superior mileage and now comes with the convenience of electric start. At an introductory price of Rs 38,806- we expect the CT100 Electric Start version to gain a large number of customers at the entry-level 100cc commuter segment, just the way the CT100 kick-start had done two years ago.”

Primarily aimed at Tier II and Tier III markets, new Bajaj CT100 is positioned below the Platina in company’s product portfolio. Launched at a time when Bajaj Auto is dealing with a falling market share, new Bajaj CT100 will be followed by more launches that will include new variants in the Pulsar, Discover and Dominar range, Bajaj confirmed.
