The updated 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged direction injection petrol engine which was introduced in the recently unveiled 2016 Mercedes A 45 AMG has been carried forward to its siblings CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG as well.
In its latest tune, the bomb of a compact performance motor produces an astonishing 381 PS and 475 Nm of torque. That is a hike of 21 PS of power and 25 Nm of torque, which should enhance the performance noticeably.
The Affalterbach-treated MFA siblings also benefit from revised 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT gearbox which gets shortened 3rd and 7th gear ratios and reduced shift times. A rotary AMG DYNAMIC SELECT dial comes as standard and lets the driver to choose between Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual driving modes.
Mercedes also offers AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package which gets front axle differential lock and AMG Ride Control suspension package with two stage adjustable dampers.
Unlike the 2015 A 45 AMG, its siblings do not feature cosmetic upgrades.Bookings in Germany have already commenced for the updated compact performance Mercs with deliveries set to start in September. As of now, Mercedes has not upgraded the aesthetics of CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG but has announced that when the time comes, changes would be similar to those of A 45 AMG facelift.
Since Mercedes CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG are being imported as CBUs into India, we would be receiving the updated versions soon after the international deliveries commence.
