Last month, 9,777 Honda City units were sold (PY 9518 units) equating to 2 pct sales growth for a stellar C-segment performance. 4th generation Honda City is the fastest to reach the 1-lakh cumulative sales mark in just 15 months since Honda Cars India launched the sedan in early 2014.
Since launch in January 2014, 101,299 Honda City units have been sold.
Honda attributes March 2015 sales growth to customer appreciation right across its product portfolio. New Honda City has gone on to achieve exceptional success with over 1 lakh sales in only 15 months. HCIL registered its highest ever monthly sales of 22,696 units in March 2015. Of this 43 pct sales were attributed to 4th gen Honda City.
For FY 2014-15, Honda Cars India reports annual growth of 41 pct with 189,062 units sold. Of this, new 4th gen Honda City sales accounted for 77384 units, attributing to 40 pct sales in the fiscal ended.
Honda’s platform sharing premise sees Honda Brio, Amaze and Mobilio offerings. The Honda Jazz/Fit, and City platform now looks to accommodate a larger sized Shuttle MPV that borrows from City styling from the looks of it.

Having begun its journey in India in January 1998, previous 3 generations of Honda City boasts of 4.3 lakh customers here.
