Audi A3 India launch hours away, dealers confirm overwhelming response
Audi A3 sedan will be launched in India in a few hours from now. India’s first entry level compact luxury sedan, slated to be the most affordable Audi in India, is expected to come with a price range of Rs 25-33 lakhs. Bookings are open, and dealers have confirmed that the response has been unlike any other Audi till date.
For India, Audi A3 sedan will receive two engine options to include 1.8 liter petrol offering 177 bhp and a 2.0 liter diesel engine offering 143 bhp. The petrol engine will be mated to 7 speed DSG gearbox while diesel engine will be mated to 6 speed DSG gearbox.
Set to attract an entirely new segment of buyers in India, the Audi A3 sedan is said to be a game changer for the company.¬†Voted as 2014 World Car of the Year, Audi A3 will come in with dynamic styling and state of the art features. Bookings officially opened earlier this month, and dealers across India have confirmed that there has been an overwhelming response, unlike for any other Audi car till date. Most of the dealers we spoke to, have said that they have already exhausted their first batch of allocated units of A3, even before the official price has been revealed.
Audi A3 sedan will receive daytime running lights, alloy wheels and with no compromises where interior cabin design is concerned. Clutter free, simplistic and minimal in design, the front seats are comfortable while space at the rear is at a premium. Equipment on board will include bi-xenon headlamps, a panoramic sun roof, 7 inch MMI screen, S line exterior package and a total of 6 airbags.
The upcoming Audi A3 will slot in below the A4 and¬†will measure 4,456 mm in length, 1,796 mm in width and 1,416 mm in height. It will sit on a wheelbase measuring 2,637 mm and will have a top speed of 215 kmph for the diesel variant, and 250 kmph for the petrol¬†variant. Mileage for the petrol variant is claimed to be about 16 kmpl, and for diesel will be about 20 kmpl. More details from the launch event tomorrow. Until then –
