Bentley Bentayga which is described by its maker as the fastest, most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive SUV in the world, has been unveiled online. The first high riding Bentley in the history is now entertaining the showgoers at IAA 2015 (Frankfurt Motor Show).
After receiving not so positive response from the public for the EXP-9F concept, the Crewe-based outfit’s designers went back to the drawing board and has come up with an improved front fascia without fiddling much with the basic shape. As a result, Bentayga looks familiar with Continenal GT-like grille and headlamps (LEDs).
The Bentley Bentayga is powered by a 608 PS W12 V12 twin-turbo petrol engine displacing 6.0-litre.The imposing stance is further helped by generously proportioned air intakes and an accentuated hood. The profile too incorporates quintessential Bentley design elements such as ‘B’ shaped front fender vents, neat creases on the doors, massive alloy wheels (20- to 22-inchers) and muscular rear haunches.
The understated rear fascia is characterized by a tapering tailgate, rectangular LED taillights, a chrome strip on the bumper dual elliptical exhaust pipes.
The cabin is trimmed in handcrafted leather, wood and metal elements.Inside, the trademark Bentley cabin is appointed in top quality leather, wood and other handcrafted trim elements. The four-seater is equipped with 18-way electrically adjustable rear seats. As usual, the customers are offered with several customization options.
Powering the world’s fastest SUV is a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 petrol engine which has a tarmac fraying 608 PS and 900 Nm of torque at its disposal. The engine is mated to an eight-speed transmission which drives all the four wheels.
0-100 comes in just 4 seconds and the Bentayga is the only SUV to breach the 300 kmph barrier (301 kmph to be precise). Despite its exceptional performance credentials, the new Bentley is claimed to deliver a combined fuel efficiency of 7.78 kmpl under EDC.
