Hero HX250R to feature Magneti Marelli’s new fuel injection system?

Fiat owned Magneti Marelli, which specializes in the development and manufacture of auto components, is very near on offering India another affordable fuel efficient technology.

Apart from maruti and Tata, car manufacturers who have plans to offer AMT in the future include Hyundai, Nissan, Renault, Honda, Ford, etc.

Magnetti Marelli is the same company which has provided Maruti Suzuki with the AMT (auto-manual transmission) kit, which have been fitted on the Celerio, India’s first car with AMT technology. These AMT kits are not only affordable, but also fuel efficient. They are so much in demand, that Magneti Marelli will now manufacture them in India, at their plant in Manesar starting next year.

Speaking about their future plans, Mr Saju Mookken, MD and Country Manager for Magneti Marelli India has revealed that they will now launch an affordable fuel injection system. This new system from Magneti Marelli will first be seen on a new Hero MotoCorp motorcycle which is scheduled for launch next year.

Showcased earlier this year in January, Hero HX250R will be the most powerful and fastest Hero motorcycle when launched.

Though it is not revealed which new Hero MotoCorp motorcycle will receive this new FI system from Magneti Marelli, it is quite possible that the bike is none other than Hero’s new flagship – HX250R. The new HX250R is scheduled for launch in early 2015, which makes it a good bet for a guess. If that is not the case, this new FI system can also find its way on one of the existing 150cc motorcycle from Hero. Whichever is the case, the new FI system will not only offer better mileage, but will also reduce cost as compared to conventional FI system.

With some of the biggest names in the world, two wheeler industry in India is growing exponentially. Manufacturers are always striving to offer fuel efficient options to their customers. At such a time, launch of new affordable FI system from Magneti Marelli will work greatly to the advantage of Hero MotoCorp.

Apart from Magneti Marelli, Bosch too have announced a low cost electronic fuel injection system, which can be fitted on any motorcycle.
