A walk around the Elite i20, in this case scrolling through spy shots (thanks to anonymous fanatic), we see that new model looks utterly different from outgoing, rather just discontinued i20. New Hyundai i20 has much more European genes than first generation one did, which we are yet to see making impression on Indian customers.
Front fascia gets newly designed headlamps, horizontal incision between them replacing single slat grille in first gen i20, large hexagonal air dam beneath and a bumper unit with new fog lamp recess and interconnecting third air vent to radiator running parallel to other slit.
Side of Elite i20 creates an illusion of longer car, with less curves and more linear lines. Outside Rear View Mirror design looks modified and alloy wheels as well. In addition to A and B pillars, C pillar is also blacked out to make new i20 appear bigger and sportier.
Rear facade is also completely new; every contour and detailing is dissimilar to first generation Hyundai i20. Tail lights, centre stop lamp, roof lip, wiper, boot opener, reflectors, number plate recess and what not look new and improved from usual fluidic sculpture.
Interiors of second generation Hyundai i20 are also non-reminiscent of existing i20 version. Stylish 3 spoke steering wheel in earlier model is replaced with the comparatively mundane looking unit employed by Grand i10. Dual tone (black & Beige) colour theme, with shades similar to Grand i10’s is used in Elite i20, as improvement to full black finish in present i20 variant. There are more items and designs that are inspired by Grand i10.
Upcoming Hyundai i20 receives sizeable Multi Function Display in between speedo and tacho dials, horizontal AC vents, ICE (In Car Entertainment) display embedded in centre console in the middle of big black buttons and climate control unit well beneath. Entire view of dashboard and rest of cabin is yet to be seen, more on that soon. Expect price of Hyundai Elite i20 to fall between Rs. 5.5 lakhs and Rs. 8.5 lakhs.
