Maruti Suzuki automotive training to 2100 youths every year, and make them job ready

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, leading automakers in India have committed INR 5 crores towards a corporate social responsibility project.

Automobile Skill Enhancement Centres offering training in service, repairs and maintenance will be set up in ITIs in Jammu, Srinagar, Patiala, Hoshiarpur, Yamuna Nagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Dehradun, Dewas, Durg, Jabalpur, Surat, Godhra, Ankleshwar, Kolkata, Mangalore, Mysore, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Karimnagar Vijayawada, Kochi, , Calicut, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram among others.

These centers will be well equipped with a model workshop with the latest training apparatus to offer practical training to 2100 youths for which the company will also be appointing full time trainers. Association with local company service workshops will give the students hands-on training making them job ready.

The training will be a part of the ITI curriculum and students will be given 50 days of training after which they will be awarded an additional skill certificate. The youths, once trained will be able to seek employment at any workshop, even those not servicing Maruti Suzuki vehicles.

These youths will not only be trained for Maruti vehicles, but all vehicles in the industry.

Speaking about the new corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity, Maruti Suzuki’s Executive Director (Service), Mr Pankaj Narula said that this initiative will make sure those youths who fall back, only because they don’t have financial backing, will get to train with the best equipments. Automotive industry is growing by leaps and bounds. More people are buying cars today than ever before in the country.

This also implies that the auto industry will require more and more youths joining them who will help in road side assistance, quality service and repair. This new Maruti CSR activity will not only provide the industry with 2100 youths who will be well trained, but will also make them job ready.
