Maruti YBA sub-4m SUV, reported to be called Maruti Vitara Brezza on launch, is set to be launched at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. Recent sightings in Himachal Pradesh and earlier in Rajasthan have brought some external and internal features to the fore.

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki compact SUV is based on an all new platform. This is the same platform which could be seen on the new generation Swift and DZire, when they are launched in 2017. This new platform, is expected to be lighter and stronger, which makes the upcoming compact SUV from Maruti not only safer, but also fun to drive.

Expect Maruti Brezza to be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and the 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced DDiS diesel engine mated to 5 speed manual; while the petrol engine could also receive a CVT. Petrol engine output will be in the range of 75 PS while that of the diesel engine will be about 90 PS. Maruti’s latest SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) technology is also expected to be seen on board the YBA SUV.

Competing with the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 when launched, Maruti YBA sub-4m SUV receives interiors that are spacious and minimal. An all black dashboard with piano black accents are evident while the black color scheme continues to seating.

Features include Bluetooth streaming for media and phone audio, navigation, reverse camera and Apple CarPlay with touchscreen. To sport keyless entry, push button start/stop safety will also be enhanced with features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD).

Pricing of the Maruti YBA sub-4m SUV could range between INR 6 lakhs and INR 9 lakh. Though a compact SUV, Maruti is expected to market the YBA as a premium offering and thus, it will be sold along side the Baleno and S-Cross at a nearby NEXA outlet.
