First showcased earlier this year, both Hero Karizma R and Karizma ZMR are powered by the same 223 cc engine, but power output is different. In the Karizma R, the 223cc engine continues to deliver 19.2 PS power and 19.35 Nm torque, while in the ZMR, this engine delivers 20 PS and 19.35 Nm torque, thanks to inputs from Hero’s American motorcycle racing company – Erik Buell Racing. The older Karizma’s 223 cc engine produced 17.35 PS power and 18.35 Nm torque.
As far as difference between the two is concerned, the R comes with carburetor, while the ZMR comes with a fuel injection. Top speed is not officially revealed, but expect it to be 130 kmph for the R, and 135 kmph for the ZMR.
On road price of Hero Karizma ZMR in Mumbai stands at Rs 116,630, while in Delhi it’s price is Rs 114,210. The on-road price of Karizma R in Mumbai is at Rs 93,119 while that in New Delhi is at Rs 91,320.
Considering the price, Hero Karizma R will directly compete with the Pulsar 220, while the Karizma ZMR is priced in a new league. It’s price puts it somewhere in between the price of Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS and Yamaha R15.`
