Renault Duster localization levels to be increased to more than 80 percent

As a part of the ‘Make in India’ campaign, Renault India has plans to step up its localization program. With localization the key to success in India, Renault is set to increase localization where the Renault Duster SUV is concerned to over 80% from a current 70%.

The company recently launched Renault Kwid hatchback with localization level of 98% with even critical components such as nuts and bolts being produced locally. Renault India localization plan has allowed the company to price the Kwid at INR 2,56,968 for the base model while cost of maintenance is pegged at 19% lower than market leader, Maruti Alto.
