Set to compete in a burgeoning MPV segment in India, Renault Lodgy MPV makes its official entry into India today. Price of Renault Lodgy 85 PS variant starts from Rs 8.19 lakhs, and that of its more powerful 110 PS variant starts from Rs 10.09 lakhs. All prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi.
Renault Lodgy is based on the same platform as Duster and will compete withthe likes of Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga, Mahindra Xylo and Chevrolet Enjoy. Renault Lodgy MPV receives a 1.5 liter dCi diesel engine offering 85 PS power mated to a 5 speed gearbox while the same engine offering 110 PS power is mated to a 6 speed unit. Claiming fuel efficiency of 21.04 kmpl from the 85PS variant and 19.98 kmph from the 110 PS variant, gives Renault Lodgy a superior edge over its main rival (Toyota Innova) where fuel efficiency is concerned.
The 85 PS variant has a top speed of 163 kmph, while the 110 PS variant has a top speed of 170 kmph. 0-100 kmph figures stand at 13.3 seconds and 12.0 seconds, respectively. Speaking about braking, it comes to standstill from 80 kmph in 35.26 metre. This numbers imply, Lodgy has best in class top speed, acceleration and braking performance.
Renault Lodgy is being offered in both 7 and 8 seater configurations. It bears dimensions of 4,498mm length, 1,751mm width and 1,697mm height. With a name derived from the English word ‘Lodge’ the new Renault Lodgy can comfortably accommodate a family and luggage, while even third row boasts of 144mm legroom and 866mm headroom.
Boot space stands at 207 litres, with all three rows in seating position. With third row tumbled, you get boot space of 589 litres, with third row completely removed, you get 759 litres. In case you want to have even more boot space, you can tumble the second row seats, and twin tumble the third row, and you have a boot space of 1861 litres.
Exterior features include twin slat chrome grille, aerodynamic bumper, bold headlamps, 15 inch 5 spoke alloys, chrome satin finish for roof, side moulding with chrome, and chrome tailgate embellisher.
Interiors sport premium layout, with dual tone finish. It features electrically adjustable wing mirrors, touchscreen infotainment system with USB, AUX-in connectivity and MediaNAV. It also has rear view camera adjustable steering wheel, steering mounted controls, roof mounted AC vents for second and third row passengers, charging port for all three rows, and storage space (cubby holes in all three rows). Safety features include ABS, EBD, brake assist and driver and passenger airbags. It also has cruise control and speed limiter.
To make the deal even sweeter, Renault India is offering 5 years/100k kms warranty on Lodgy; claiming that it is the has the lowest cost of maintenance in the segment. Renault Lodgy for India is produced at $1 billion plant of Renault India in Oragadam, Tamil Nadu. Dealers across the country have opened bookings of Lodgy, while deliveries will commence from today.
