Slated for launch in February 2015, the new Bajaj Platina 100 will receive styling updates, new graphics, exhaust pipe, shades and body panels. No changes are expected to be made to the engine.
New Bajaj Platina 100 will continue to be powered by a 99.27cc air cooled engine which on the current model is capable of producing 8.2 PS peak power at 7,500 rpm and peak torque of 8.05 Nm at 4,500 rpm mated to a four speed gearbox. Output might get tweaked to offer better mileage.
Already spotted on test, 2015 Bajaj Platina 100 sees no changes where headlight and tail light design is concerned while the same turn indicators, telescopic forks in front and drum brakes continue on the new model. Platina 100 will also continue with same alloy wheel design.
The current Platina is priced at INR 37,044, ex-showroom. New Platina 100 will also receive a similar price tag once launched. It will compete against the Hero Passion and Hero Splendor and Honda Dream Series. Existing Platina will not be discontinued, and will be sold alongside.

Bajaj Platina 100 is aimed at the commuter segment buyers, who require the motorcycle for travelling from A to B in the most economical way. With the new Platina in the market, Bajaj Auto expects sales of Platina brand to touch 80,000 units a month.
