2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class makes India debut at CeBIT, launch on 25 Nov

CeBIT is a global business IT and communications event. It is for this reason, Mercedes Benz India has chosen CeBIT as venue for the unveil of new C Class. Coincidentally, for CeBIT as well, it its debut in India. This is the first time CeBIT has been organized in India.

2015 Mercedes C Class made its official debut in India today. Price is not revealed yet, as launch is scheduled for 25th November 2014.

With today’s unveil, Mercedes Benz India wishes to draw attention to the new generation Infotainment System “Audio 20 Version 5.1” with complete new ergonomic interface featuring a touch pad, on offer with the new C Class. Happening in Bangalore, CeBIT is open till day after tomorrow.

Official launch of 2015 C Class will take place on 25th November in New Delhi. It has now been revealed, that initially Mercedes Benz will bring the new C Class into the country as CBUs. At first, only petrol variant will be on offer, while diesel variant is expected to be launched at a later date, probably when the local assembly of new C Class begins.

2015 C Class petrol engine variant C200 CGI will be powered by a 2.0 liter petrol engine producing 181 hp peak power and 300 Nm torque via a 7GTronic gearbox. Fuel efficiency is expected to be at 14 kmpl.

First, only petrol variant will be on offer, and that too as a CBU. Diesel C Class is expected to launch next year, when the production begins.

2015 Mercedes Benz C Class will see increased proportions as compared to its earlier counterpart, to now measure 4686mm in length, 1810mm in width and 1442mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2840mm thereby resulting in added interior space, especially for passengers at the rear. Boot space is increased by 5mm to measure 480 liters while interiors are inspired by the Mercedes Benz S Class.

Mercedes Benz C Class, based on the company’s new lightweight modular rear-drive MRA (Mercedes Rear-drive Architecture) platform, will be priced in the Rs 30-40 lakh bracket. Competition will be from Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and soon to be launched Jaguar XE sedan.
